About me

I came to Pilates in an unconventional way. Whilst I have been a fitness fanatic all my life, I had a career in the City of London, in banking and insurance for nearly 20 years. I first stumbled across Pilates in 1997 after I injured my back and was recommended to take it up by my physiotherapist. It was nothing less than revolutionary for me to discover that exercise could be so joyful and painless! None of that “no gain without pain” attitude, no days of muscle ache after a rigorous body pump or step class. When the time came for me to leave the City, becoming a Pilates teacher was a natural path for me to take.

I trained with Body Control Pilates, renown for its rigorous teacher training and I am also a member of Body Control Pilates Association (BCPA). BCPA is Europe’s largest association of Pilates professionals. All BCPA members work to a strict Code of Practice governing teaching standards, professional ethics and continuing education.

Since my initial training I greatly upgraded my qualifications which now include:

      -    Body Control Pilates Basic (2002) and Intermediate Mat Certification

-         Body Control Pilates Reformer 1 Certification

-         Body Control Cadillac 1 Certification

-         Therapeutic Pilates Certification

-         Polestar Rehabilitation course

-         and many others
