Back4Good

In 2010 I underwent an intensive course to become a certified Back4Good practitioner and a Level 4 Advanced Exercise Instrtuctor.

More than 80% of population suffer with low back pain at some point of their lives - I know because I got into Pilates owing to my recurrent and, at that time, debilitating low back pain.

In the past, your first point of call would have been an osteopath, a chiropractor or a doctor - all of whom are great, but all of whom are likely to  treat your condition passively: "put you in alignment", manipulate you or simply give you pills. All this works in a short term.

Nowadays, the thinking is a bit different: it has been shown that gentle exercise is a better way to prevent a back pain occuring and treat a non-specific back pain (95% of cases).

Back4Good sessions will start with teaching you the basics of Alignment, Breathing and Core Staibilty (ABC). We will then progress to exercises designed to help you control your movemnets and improve your posture, thus increasing both the strength and flexibility of your back.

Whilst not a miracle cure, Pilates based Back4Good exercises will put you more in control of your back and - hopefully - keep pain at bay for good.
